The rigorous boot camp curriculum is delivered through high-quality coursework and live, online noncredit classes led by instructors who are reviewed by University of Oregon Continuing and Professional Education. All instructors are assessed for not only their experience in the field, but also their ability to successfully communicate software development concepts to participants in an online environment. Instructors deliver a quality, up-to-date curriculum and offer one-on-one guidance throughout the program.
The curriculum is designed to equip you with specialized skills that can prepare you for the next step in your career as a software developer. Boost your portfolio and stand out from the competition with AI coding tools, object-oriented programming, and Python and Typescript fundamentals.
Learn fundamental concepts of software development, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python fundamentals, and AI tools like GitHub Copilot.
Portfolio Project: Build a client-side application using third-party APIs.
Work with servers, databases, and other back-end technologies, such as SQL databases, prompt engineering, and Node.js.
Portfolio Project: Engineer your first full stack application.
Develop a set of specialized skills using NoSQL databases, create full-stack applications using React, and learn computer science fundamentals like object-oriented programming, demonstrated with Python.
Portfolio Project: Create a MERN stack single-page application.
By the time you complete the boot camp, you will have mastered in-demand skills, built an impressive portfolio of software development projects, and earned a valuable noncredit Certificate of Completion from University of Oregon Continuing and Professional Education.
This part-time non-degree program is designed for working adults, participants, and busy professionals. It combines

Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) connects the University of Oregon with regional communities to enable learning outside of the traditional university setting. Working in partnership with UO schools and colleges, selected vendors, and national credentialing associations, we serve more than 5,000 participants annually.
Through Continuing and Professional Education, individuals can access professional development, lifelong learning, and community engagement opportunities that will allow them to grow and thrive without being an admitted participant at the UO.
Continuing and Professional Education programs are self-support and fee-based; they do not use state dollars. CPE reports to the Division of Student Services and Enrollment Management.

This boot camp, offered in partnership with edX, is made available through a unique consortium delivery model to provide skills-based learning to participants across Oregon and beyond. Participants will be taught by a university-approved instructor, while learning alongside students from other consortium-participating universities and institutions. Upon meeting the completion requirements, participants will be issued a non-credit professional certificate by University of Oregon Continuing and Professional Education.
